The Health and Consumer Intergroup aims to provide a forum where MEPs will have the opportunity to regularly meet with consumer and public health experts from across the EU. It will organise discussions on consumer and health issues that touch upon the agenda of several Committees. The Secretariat and the Bureau are committed to always ensure that the topics coincide with the Parliament agenda; and that at these intergroups, stakeholders' views and those of the relevant Commission officials are also expressed.
BEUC, the European Consumers' Organisation, and EPHA, the European Public Health Alliance, act as the Secretariat. EPHA and BEUC do not receive any funding from the European Parliament or from Members of the European Parliament to act as the Secretariat of the Intergroup.
